| Grizzlies Season Preview | |
Memphis was 29th in points per game and despite the additions of Zach Randolph and Allen Iverson, the offense still has a way to go. With Iverson, Randolph, Gay and Mayo on the same team, the Grizzlies may finish last in the NBA in assists. O.J Mayo proved he was a quailty scorer in his rookie campign but takes too many unneccassary chances when handling the ball. Marc Gasol brings some toughness and has a better then ecpected offsenive game. Allen Iverson will have a big season and prove to the critics he can still play but he might hurt Mike Conley’s developement in the process, Conley’s production the second half of last season showed real promise in him becoming the point guard Memphis banked on in the 2007 draft. The Grizzlies will score a lot of points and be fun to watch but wont win alot of games if Iverson, Randolph and Gay continue to be unwilling defenders. Rookie Hasheem Thabeet struggled in the summer and in preseason and i dont expect he’ll provide much production for the Grizzlies this season. Key Additions: Allen Iverson, Zach Randolph, Hasheem Thabeet, Steven Hunter, DeMarre Carroll, Marcus Williams, Sam Young Key Subtractions: Hakim Warrick, Quinton Ross, Darko Milicic Projected Starting Lineup: Allen Iverson/ O.J. Mayo/ Rudy Gay/ Zach Randolph/ Marc Gasol Key Reserves: Mike Conley, Darrell Arthur, Hasheem Thabeet, Marko Jaric, DeMarre Carroll -Bennice Posted in Uncategorized | No Comments »
